A Mother's Plea

I am Trayvon Martin

I am Trayvon Martin

While the Trayvon Martin and Emmit Till cases are a tremendous tragedy it is important to note that such grave injustices exist in different forms as well. For example, I have been criminally incarcerated since 1994 for (the non-violent crime) of being a felon in possession of a mere firearm. And, like myself, there are thousands callously and criminally incarcerated under the same draconian federal statute 924(e).

Similarly, the disparity between crack and powder cocaine: which primarily affect the minority community with anti-American exorbitant sentences. While powder cocaine, widely offended by the white society, in comparison, received more lenient sentences. It so seems (is) that offenses that are likely to affect non-whites are punished under the law more severely. This is a proven statistic that was brought to the fore front by prominent Attorney General Eric Holder.

Analyze me, for my offense of being a petty felon in possession of a mere purchased firearm I am serving unjustly more time in prison then; armed bank robbers, rapist, pedophiles, murderers, drug kingpins, home invaders and kidnappers (just to name a few), oh and allow me to add George Zimmerman.

Massive overhaul of the federal sentencing guidelines is absolutely indispensable. Please (tell a friend) and support the A.A.I. petition to redress the criminal sentence against me, which also constitutes sentencing reform.

-IN THE NAME OF LIBERTY AND JUSTICE FOR ALL I WHOLEHEARTEDLY THANK YOU.
